Art Resources

I don't have many skills as far as graphics go (I already saw the couple awesome postcards posted) But I thought I'd try to help out some. I was completely caught off guard when I realized the spotlights were gone! And IMO there wasn't a shot (in the episode they were removed for) that justified or needed them to be removed. And honestly I'm surprised Kripke would let them do it.

But ANYWAYS lol I'm a major Impala fangirl (seriously, she has her own folder on my computer) and a grease monkey to the bone (I have my own babies, a 87 Monte Carlo and 78 Van) so I put together a lil zip folder of some Metallicar pics/screencaps that show off the spotlights...hopefully it'll help someone out (I only managed to find one good shot of them actually USING the light in Hookman, which was the only time they ever did)...plus some special extras under the cut ;)

first off, here's the zip: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LEL9RWJE

and now some extras...

here's a couple shots of post spotlights:

loco_lobo! *uses appropiate icon*

I have a couple screencaps of the hookman spotlight usage if anyone wants them.

Um, those police cars are the Biscayne model, not Impala :( But SO VERY similar. And cooler than a naked Impala with no spotties :(

I hope someone makes some great graphics with these excellent resources. :)

does anyone even know if what the studio has ARE impalas? the Impala, Biscayne, Bel Air and Caprice (the fullsize chevys that year) are basically the same, it was basically just trim levels...and seeing as all the cars on the shows are de-badged, for all we know theyre just clones

...someone should ask them, thats gonna bug me now lol

Yay! I get to show off my useless knowledge on the differences between Impalas, Bel-Airs, and Biscaynes!

The main way to tell a Biscayne is by the tailights, they are red-white, that's it. The Impala and Bel Air have the red-white-red combo.

For the following examples I am going to use the 4-door model since that's what the Precious is...
Impala 4 doors can be hardtop (which means no frame around the windows) or sedan (which DOES have frames around the window, but the frame is entirely chromed).
The 4-door Biscayne and Bel-Air are both only sedan (with the frames) but they are not totally chrome, they are the color of the car with a smidge of chrome.

So, yes, they are definately using Impalas :)

Oh, sorry I didn't see you ask about Caprice too. :)

The Caprice has a square window in the back instead of triangular-ish. And after looking around a bit I just realized I proved this false, they sometimes DO have the triangle window, but they always have the red-red-red tailight combo. :)

And on a freakish note, the '67 Impala also came as a station wagon. Yikes!
